Back in Business

Alright, I’m finally back from probably the most stressful holiday I have experienced. It was still fun though, honest. Just a tad… involved. My luggage got lost twice. The first time it took a week to get back to me (thanks very much BA and Delta for pulling that one off) the second time only took 12 hours or so. I also arrived a day later than I should have due to Delta screwing up my connecting flight from Syracuse to JFK. I very nearly came back a day later as well, as Heathrow terminal 4 was evacuated about half an hour after I went through the airport.

There were lots of good bits though, too. I managed to see all three of my cousins in Holland, as well as my grandmother. Me and my sister spent a couple of very busy days and nights in Amsterdam, and then another in Paris. It turns out we’d lucked out and visited during the Fete de la Musique, so while we dashed around trying to see as much as possible in 12 hours, we were surrounded by all kinds of music being performed all over the streets. It was great. I have a wonderful impression of Paris from that.

I also managed to see my Sister and Mum perform a musical number in a variety show in London, and then encourage everyone to get off there arses and dance to the band at two of my friend’s wedding. There must be a whole load of embarrassing pictures somewhere, but I haven’t quite found them yet…

Anyway, I’m trying to ease myself into work now and sort out the twenty billion things which got neglected during my time away. I need a holiday now.
